BNR beat TFA 5-2, enter Gold Cup semis

Gangtok, Sep 15 (PTI) BNR of Kolkata thrashed Tata Football Academy 5-2 to storm into the semi-final of 31st All India Governor's Gold Cup football tournament at the Paljor Stadium here today.

The Kolkata outfit surged ahead in the 13th second when striker Baba Tunde capitalised on a Madan Buchi pass to score from a close range even before any TFA player could even touch the ball.
The TFA, however, recaptured their rhythm soon to draw parity in the 13th minute through a header by striker Robin Singh.

BNR extended the lead yet again in the 27th minute.
Asim Das, Tunde (through his second) and substitute Pratim Sarkar - all joined the goal rush for the BNR to round off a comfortable 5-1 lead by the time the game had entered into injury time, when Robin Singh scored his second to pull one back for the TFA.
