Sikkim Guest Houses at Kolkata, Guwahati to be completed by year end

GANGTOK, August 11: The Sikkim Guest Houses constructed by the State Government at Kolkata and Guwahati will be completed with this year, informs a press release from the office of State Buildings and Housing department.

The Buildings and Housing minister, Tilu Gurung had recently conducted an inspection trip of the ongoing construction activities of these two guest houses of Sikkim Government. She took full details of the ongoing activities at the sites, the release adds.

Mrs. Gurung had first visited the under construction Sikkim Guest House at Guwahati being constructed at the cost of Rs. 3,4 crores which has three floors. The infrastructure also has a separate two storied quarters for employees.

During the inspection trip, Mrs Gurung has directed the concerned contractor to complete the building by December and hand it over to the department.
The building is ninety percent complete and the site spreads around 1 acre at Panchabari in Guwahati.
Similarly, a high level team led by Mrs. Gurung visited the under construction Sikkim Guest House at Salt Lake where the minister directed the concerned contractor to finish the works by October and hand over the building to the department.
Around 94 percent works of the Sikkim Guest House at Salt lake being constructed at a cost of Rs. 4.91 crores has been completed.

The Buildings and Housing department secretary, chief engineer, divisional engineer, junior engineer, assistant engineer and architect had accompanied Mrs. Gurung during her stocktaking visits.
