Gangtok:The State Bank of India has started a training programme — Parivartan — for its employees to make them more customer-friendly.
“The basic idea is to expose each employee to the current banking and economic scenario and to our corporate strategies,” said P.S. Prakash Rao, the deputy general manager at the zonal office in Siliguri. “The schedule has been made comprehensive to help each employee assess what the bank expects from him/her.”
With the programme being launched on July 16 at the national level, two-day workshops have been arranged for the zonal office here. Each session is being attended by 80 employees. The zone has 1,400-odd employees in 140 branches of north Bengal and Sikkim. “Senior officials have been trained to teach the juniors,” said Rao who had received the training.
