Gangtok:The conferment of State awards on Sikkim Day on nine individuals recognising their commitments and excellence in their respective fields which make the Sikkim feel proud.
The nine recipients of the State Awards are:
- Kiran Rasaily for architecture
- Bhanu Gurung for Music
- Kipu Tshering Lepcha of Sikkim Human Development Forum for Social Services
- Lal Prasad Rai for sculpturing
- Ball Bahadur Rai for Art
- Prabin Rai Jumeli for Literature
- Namgyal Kazi for his services in the Civil Defence
- Sarikah Atreya for Journalism
- Nirmal Mangar for journalism
The State awards, handed over by the Chief Minister Dr. Pawan Chamling yesterday at Chintan Bhawan , included a citation recording their contribution and a cash component of Rs.25000/-
