Chisopani, 19May 2007: C hief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling Inaugurated CCCT (Centre for Computers & Communication Technology),Chisopani.Area MLA K.N.Rai and Education Minister G.M.Gurung were also present on occassion along with other local dignitaries.
The Inauguration of CCCT would be a great breakthough for expansion of Technical Education in Sikkim and it was also a long fulfilled dream of his to have an institue like CCCT in Sikkim ,he said.And for sikkim's young men and women who need to enhance their technical calibre and education,CCCT possess a modern techniques/method for practically preparing students/youths for shaping tommorow's Techno Dr.Chamling also triggered a key to successfully host CCCT Web-Portal .A cultural programme was also presented on the occassion by the students of CCCT for Chief Minister and other dignitaries.
However,The largest institution in state is the Sikkim Manipal University which has 2 wings Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology which offers higher education in engineering and SMIMS medicine. 
There are two state-run polytechnics,
Advanced Technical Training Centre(ATTC) and Centre for Computers and Communication
Technology(CCCT) in Sikkim which offer diploma courses in various branches of engineering.
ATTC is situated at Bardang, Singtam and CCCT at Chisopani, Namchi.

Many students however,still prefer migrating to Siliguri and Bangalore or Kolkatta for their higher education
