BNR swat Telegrah, jump to final in Sikkim Cup

Gangtok, Sept 19: BNR-Kolkata sailed into the final of the 31st All India Governor's Gold Cup football tournament with a 2-0 comfortable win over thier city rivals George Telegraph in first semifinal match at Paljor Stadium today.
The winners simply dominated the proceedings and came close on several occasions to take the lead in the first half. But the woodwork and good skills shown by the George Telegraph goalkeeper Sibram Dey denied the BNR team at least three occasions in the first half.
The luck for George Telegraph eventually ran out in the 67th minute when BNR striker Baba Tunde's fired a salvo from edge of the box but as ball came into path of rushing Madun Buchi, who tapped in to beat Sibram Dey.
Three minutes later when Tunde was chopped down by goalkeeper Dey inside the box leading to a penalty decision. Tunde coolly converted the penalty to score to consolidate the lead for his BNR team.
For the finals, BNR now awaits the winner of tomorrow's second semifinal match between Chirag United and Calcutta Port Trust at Paljor Stadium
