Gangtok: BNR, Kolkata, entered pre-quarter round of ongoing 31st All India Governor Gold Cup Football Tournament by defeating Sikkim Police 4-1 on Monday at Paljor Stadium.
Only one match was played on the first day of qualifying round. Throughout the match BNR dominated Sikkim Police. In the first half, Baba Tunde John of BNR scored the first goal in 3 minute, followed by Maduabuchi Nick of BNR scoring 2nd goal in 37 minute and again Baba scoring in 43 minute. After two minutes, Pritam Sarkar of the same team scored the fourth goal in 45 minute. Thereafter within a few seconds Ruben Rai of Sikkim Police scored one goal.
