Gangtok:The Sikkim Democratic Front in a press release issued today strongly denied "the charge of spreading communalism" which has been made against us by SIBLAC in order to tarnish the secular image of SDF and to derive political mileage by spreading such baseless, false allegation against a party which has always believed in communal harmony, peace, progress and democratic values and high moral standards even in politics ever since it has assumed power in 1994.
The SDF categorically denied involvement of it in any manner whatsoever in the so called communal pamphlets being circulated in Sikkim by unknown elements with a strategy to tarnish and distort the party image of Sikkim Democratic Front on the ground of communalism. The SIBLAC have clear political agenda in the name of representing particular communities as it is controlled and led by people who are in politics and represents opposition political parties although they were irrelevant and marginalised day-by-day. The Opposition is pushed to the defensive on issues of development, leadership of the state and peace therefore engaging itself to divert the attention on non-issues.
The SDF communique also strongly criticized the comments and remarks of Smt. D.K.Bhadari made in the context of hunger strike by ACT. It has informed that it was "ACT" who has repeatedly refused and reject the offers of talks and dialogues made by state government through countless communications and platforms for its own vested interests.
