Mangan: As per the reports from Senior SP S.T.Bhutia ,A flash flood in Tholum Khola claimed the four lives around 10.30pm in thursday night of August16,2007 .The all the four victims were labours engaged with Panan HydroElectric Project by Himgiri Hydro Pvt.Ltd. and were in deep sleep when after heavy rains flooded the area and separated & swept them down .The all the four hailed from outside Sikkim and belongs to Tamilnadu,WestBengal, Uttranchal,& Bihar.
The flash flood always caused loss of property as the two drilling machines used in Panan Project were also lost to the last night incident of flash flood.
The search and rescue mission is on to recover the bodies of victims but but because of high water levels they were not recovered till this evening as per reports.
