SIKKIM GOVERNOR OFFERS PRAYERS AT SAI SARVA DHAMRA KENDRA


GANGTOK, April 17: The Governor of Sikkim, V Rama Rao today visited the newly constructed Sai Sarva Dharma Kendra at Daramadin, during his two days visit to West Sikkim. Accompanied by his family members, the Governor also offered prayers in the temple.
Addressing the congregated devotees in the temple, the Governor said, “Peace and tranquility always prevailed in this tiny Himalayan state Sikkim.” He added, Bhagwan Sai Baba has always blessed Sikkim with his tremendous blessings and is much more concerned about the state. ‘Every year during my visit to Puttaparthi, Bangalore, he takes information about Sikkim’ he added.
Notifying that the universal love of Bhagwan should be followed by each soul in order to have better life, he also informed that Sai Organisations are actively involved in various social activities such as imparting education, better health and other services. The said temple is acclaimed to be one of its own kinds in the entire North East region.
‘Temple should promote communal harmony and spiritualism to every human being’, the Governor said. The Governor also felicitated Bhagwati Pradhan, the donor of the land with citation and memento. Later, the Governor also met with the local Panchyat members of Dramandin ward.
Panchayat President, Krishna Bhujel said his ward Ringang consists of seven hundred voters, but still the area is running out of drinking water, primary schools and transport services. She also placed an appeal to the Governor to look over the matter in constructing a Jeepable road from Ringang to Ram bhang. It was also highlighted that the students of the said area had to walk a distance of seven kilometers every day in order to pursue their education. The meeting also came with a strong demand in building up a modern village due to prevalence of more poverty in the said areas.
Visiting Rumbuk, where the Minister RB Subba accorded a warm welcome to His Excellency followed the visit of the Governor. The Governor is likely to visit Chakhung constituency, today.
