BLACK MAGIC LEADS ATTEMPT TO MURDER

PAKYONG, April 17: In a time of scientific and technological upbeat, Ram Kumar Rai, resident of Tarkhola, West Bengal presently staying in 4th Mile Thusuk in Pakyong was arrested against attempt to murder committed in a fury of anger against a pretending black magic speller.
The case was registered at Pakyong Police Station on 16 April after Ram Kumar Rai attempted to slaughter one Lakpa Sherpa of the same area with a khukuri injuring the latter’s head and hand.
According to the accused Ram Kumar Rai, Lakpa Sherpa played black magic over the former and Rai was told that all his family members will die within 7 years. Incidentally, Ram Kumar Rai’s father passed away following an unnatural death three days back, that apparently confirmed the theory of black magic in Rai’s mind and in a frenzy of anger, he attacked Lakpa Sherpa.
The victim was thereafter forwarded to Sir Thutob Namgyal Memorial (STNM) Hospital, Gangtok from Rangpo Primary Health Centre for further treatment and the case was thereafter registered under Section 307 against attempt to murder of the Indian Penal Code and is under further investigation.
