Nakul Das Rai, Sikkim’s MP interacts with local students


GANGTOK, April 17: A day long counseling session for the students of Tashi Namgyal Senior Secondary School (TNSSS) was conducted here today morning at the premises of the school in the presence of Nakul Das Rai, Sikkim’s Member of Parliament for Lok Sabha as the chief guest.The MP, while addressing the students highlighted on the resourceful initiatives of the present Chief Minister towards making the youths of the region self reliant in all of their present and future endeavours by way of encouraging capacity building programmes at regular intervals. Citing the exemplary figure of Chong Topden, the current Indian Ambassador to one of the African countries, Rai urged the students to aim high in life and compete at higher levels of learning and thereby reckon as successful individuals in the near future.Here, the chief guest was in all praise for the teaching faculty owing to the same profession being highly considered as noble, alongside the perfect custodians of the students. Rai during the course of his interactions with the students also stated that one should draw inspiration from the people of Kerala, wherein 60% of the population are employed outside the state, competing with other intellectuals from across the country and of the world in their respective areas of work. He also talked about the importance of self-confidence, admirable presence of mind and good communication skills to overcome even the toughest of interviews, while applying for a superior post in any of the profitable jobs.Meanwhile, he also informed of the upcoming counseling session of such kind especially for those aiming to appear for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Forest Service (IFS) and others- highly recognised examinations in the country. Also worth mentioning would be the presence of a retired Brigadier of the Indian Navy, Kamal S Rai from Delhi at the counseling session.Brigadier Rai on his part voiced that hard work evolves as a matter of great importance for any individual pursuing to achieve excellence in every spheres of life. Speaking on the context of rich benefits one can avail after joining the Indian Navy via short commission services, he highlighted on the excellent provisions in terms of medical (health), sports, group housing benefits and many others including the supreme pride and honour to serve the nation.As per the opinion of Brigadier Rai, Navy force is equally good in comparison to other career oriented jobs. Also included in the list of its benefits of the Navy force are the ample opportunities to get employed in the corporate world, even after retirement, alongside a well disciplined life, he added.
