POUDYAL SURVEYS RANGPO'S MESS


RANGPO, April 13: Taking time out from his busy schedule, the area MLA and Minister for Agriculture & Horticulture Somnath Poudyal visited Rangpo on 11 April and went for a round to listen to the grievances and problems faced by the local masses.
The Minister paid a visit to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) of Rangpo and spoke to Dr Manoj Mishra of the several problems tackled by the PHC situated by NH 31A at the entrance of Sikkim. The PHC reported its lack of infrastructure, shortage of man power in light of the increasing number of accident cases coming to the PHC, along with other setbacks like bad electrification, boundary wall, emergency lights and table sitting that were demanded immediately.
Heavy downpour some days back that created a mess at lower belt of the bazaar area because of poor drainage system was also surveyed by the area MLA. Poudyal, however, right away ordered the Urban Development & Housing Department for clearance of all jhoras and drainage blockages at the earliest.
The UD&H Department was reported to visit the next day to survey the conditions and clearance of the drains likely to start from 16 April. The Minister in his visit also announced early patch up of roads and street lights of the area.
