India U-19 Soccer team begins training at Palzor Stadium, Gangtok

Sikkim Football Association has been selected for organizing and conducting the India U-19 Football Coaching Camp at Gangtok. The Camp have started from Saturday and shall continue till April25,2007.
30 players from all over country ,selected by renowned football coach Mridul Kanti Banerjee arrived at Gangtok on april 13 for the Camp.
AIFF selection also includes local boy Nirmal Chhetri who was picked up by AIRINDIA last year.
SFA has also arranged inclusion of five more Sikkim football players to join and participate in the Camp for skill enhancements. These five players are Nim Tshering, Bikash Jairu, Engphohad Subba, Arjun Chhetri and Prithvi Chandra Gurung.
The players short-listed from Camp will proceed on to Gwalior, where the final U-19 team for India will be finalized to represent country in the qualifying rounds of FIFA World U-20 Tournaments and also other various international football tournaments.

SFA has nominated Shree Geden Lepcha as team’s liaison officer.

Further, two representative of Sikkim, President SFA Tempo Bhutia and General Secretary SFA Menla Ethenpa are also invited and have joined to be part of three days visit from 14th april of FIFA President
Joshep Sepp Blatter who on his first ever visit to India have arrived in Kolkatta to a grand reception.
