Dr.Pawan Chamling on Spiritualism


DARAMDIN April 15: Marking an extra accent on promotion of pilgrimage tourism in the state, Chief Minister Pawan Chamling today inaugurated the newly constructed Sri Sathya Sai Sarva Dharma Kendra at Daramdin, West Sikkim endorsing more such temples around the state.
“Apart from concentrating on infrastructure and other development activities, our government has also promoted spiritual upliftment in Sikkim”, voiced the Chief Minister in his brief discourse at the inauguration of the Sarva Dharma Kendra, thereby acknowledging all the persons involved directly and indirectly in construction of the temple as well the donors of the land.
The Chief Minister today called on for more initiatives and cooperation in making Sikkim a better place to live in. Observing spiritualism as one of the prime motivation in his life, he said, “Spiritualism not only leads people to a better life with broader prudence, but also develops a state of mind to see everything optimistically”.
The area MLA RB Subba in his speech acknowledged the Chief Minister for identifying Darmadin as the prime location for construction of the temple. The area already carrying a historical importance as the ‘way to heaven’ situated at Darmadin, Subba said, “Construction of the temple has added yet another asset of attraction at Daramdin”.
Kiran Kumar Rasaily, architecture of the temple in his address acknowledged the vision conceived four years back by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling became a reality today. “The responsibility laden on me by the Chief Minister meant lots more to me and now it is accomplished with dignity” he said.
As thousands of devotees thronged the temple premises since morning today to be a part of the auspicious occasion, the ceremony started with cutting of ribbons by the Chief Minister. Various exhibits and photographs of Sai Baba were displayed at the basement for sale and exhibition.
As Ms B Pradhan was learnt to earn the credit for the beautiful gardening in the temple vicinity, construction work of the Sai Mandir in the picturesque valley of West Sikkim was accomplished within a time span of four years. The structure reveals a magnificent depiction of the life of Lord Buddha, Jesus Christ and Sri Krishna over its walls. Official construction cost of the temple was reported Rs 5 Crores.
