10 dancing groups in Nachyo Babri semi finals in Gangtok

GANGTOK, October 26: 10 out of 25 dancing groups have been shortlisted for the semi final of the dance reality show Nachyo Babri during the quarter final round held at the SDF Bhawan here today. Organized by Swar Sikkim, the State Public Works Department Minister Ran Bahadur Subba today attended the competition as the chief guest.
The 10 winning teams shortlisted for the semi final round are Ekta Club, Kyongsa Club, Dancing Delight, Hamro Parivar, North Star, NSA Mangan, Nava Nirman, Bhaley Dhunga Club, Deep Flickers and Rudrakash. The semi final of the dance competition is slated for December 13.
Out of 170 groups who had participated in the audition and preliminary rounds of the competition, 25 groups performed in the quarter final round held today.
Rapden Bhutia, the general secretary of Swar Sikkim said the winning team will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1.50 lakhs while Rs. 30, 000 and Rs 20,000 will be given to the first and second runners up respectively.

Nachyo Babri audition for Gangtok Today

 


Gangtok,September20 : The phase two of the audition of 'Nachyo Babri' dance reality show was held at SDF Bhawan for the participants of Gangtok today after session with teams from Rhenock,Rongli,Singtam and Geyzing concluding yesterday.
A total of 57 groups participated yesterday and out of which 30 were selected for next round. The judges for show includes Uttam Pradhan,Hanta Nepali and Kamal Rai. Today more than 55 groups have shown their dancing talent from Gangtok and surrounding areas.
The winners of the competition would receive a cash price of Rs.1.5 lakhs,

Nachyo Babri audition for Gangtok today



GANGTOK, September 19: The phase two of the audition of ‘Nachyo Babri’ dance reality show was held today at SDF Bhavan for the participants of Rhenock, Rongli, Singtam and Geyzing.
A total of 57 groups from the above areas had participated in today’s round out of which 30 were selected for the next round. The judges were Uttam Pradhan, Hanta Nepali and Kamal Rai.
The audition for dance groups from Gangtok will be held tomorrow where 58 groups are expected to participated.
The winners of the competition would receive a cash prize of Rs 1.50 lakhs

A group of six girls, Dawa Doma Sherpa, Dolma Sherpa, Bimla Pradhan, Srijana Gurung Supriya Lama and Sujata Rai of Vision Media (Dance and Arts Institute) Pakyong, got through the audition round in Swar Sikkim Dance galaxy “Nachyo Babari”.


They will present their next performance on September 20 at SDF party Office, Gangtok in the pre-quarter final, informed the director of Vision Media (Dance and Arts Institute) Pakyong Mr. Kumar Pradhan

Nachyo Babri auditions postponed

GANGTOK, August 23: The auditions for Nachyo Babri, the dance reality show organized by Swar Sikkim for South and East Districts have been postponed due to the sent up examination in various schools around the State.
According to a press release of the organization, the audition for the South District will be held on September 5 and 6 while the audition date for East Sikkim is fixed for September 11, 12 and 13.
However, auditions for two Districts of Sikkim have been completed. Altogether 11 groups from North District and six from West District have made it to the next level of the competition.
The winner of the dance competition will win cash money of Rs. 1.50 lakhs. The grand finale of the competition will be held on November 1 in Gangtok

Sikkim hunts for Dance Talent

Gangtok,August21: NINE FM the first FM station of SIKKIM is playing the role of the official radio partner to Swar Sikkim Dance Galaxy for Natraj Championship 2009.

After its stint in the field of music and songs with Swar Sikkim-I, Bal Tara, Lok Dohori Competition, Nepali lyrics writing competition, etc, Swar Sikkim has now ventured into organizing ‘Dance Galaxy Natraj Championship 2009’.

As part of its association, NINE FM is promoting the entire event on air. Through NINE FM, Swar Sikkim announces the auditions and invites the people to participate. The event will provide a platform for the local people of Sikkim to showcase their dancing skill.

Dance Galaxy Natraj Competition 2009 is a “Group Dance Competition” where a minimum of six participants and maximum of 10 are allowed in one dancing group. Each dancing group can perform any form of dance - folk, filmy, contemporary or fusion and in any costume or in casual dress. They will be judged on the basis of basic dancing skills and choreographic talent.

The auditions for Swar Sikkim dance competition concluded for North District on August 18. From among the 20 groups, only 12 groups have been selected to vie for the top 10. The audition round for West District will be held on August 22 followed by auditions for the South District at Namchi on August 25 & East District, Gangtok on August 31.

All selected groups will have to face “Final Audition for Top Ten” on September 2. Out of top ten groups only four will be shortlisted for the grand finale. The participants will be judged by a panel of experts like Pema Choden, a prominent Bollywood dancer & choreographer, Kamal Rai, noted choreographer and dance director from Kathmandu Film Industry and Uttam Pradhan, Nepali Actor of Darpan Chaya Fame.

The winner of the competition will win a cash award of Rs.1 lakh along with Gift Hampers, trophies & Certificates.

NINE FM aims to create the perfect forum for the local talent and also aims to promote them through its medium. Auditions for ‘Nachyo Baabri Championship’ concludes for North Sikkim


GANGTOK, August 18: The auditions for Swar Sikkim dance competition ‘Nachyo Baabri Championship’ concluded for North District for the senior talents of the District.
From among the 20 group dancers, only 12 groups have been selected to vie for the top 10, reports our Correspondent.
Nachyo Baabri Championship, it is informed is a ‘Group Dance Competition’ where a minimum of six participants and maximum of 10 are allowed in one dancing group. Each dancing group can perform any form of dance – folk, filmy, contemporary or fusion and in any costume or in casual dress. They will be judged on the basis of basic dancing skills, potentiality, swiftness and movement of body, choreographic talent etc.
However, if any dancing group from any Districts misses their auditions in their respective District, they are allowed to join the final audition in Gangtok slated for August 29, 30 and 31 at Sikkim Government College Auditorium.
The audition round for West District will be held on August 21 followed by Namchi on August 22.
Swar Sikkim has ventured into organising dance competitions after its stint in the field of music and songs like Swar Sikkim-I, Bal Tara, Lok Dohori Competition, Nepali lyrics writing competition etc.
A press release issued by Swar Sikkim secretary, press and publicity Shyam Pradhan said the participants will be judged by a panel of experts like Pema Choden popularly known as ‘Santa Nepali’ who is a prominent dancer and choreographer from Bollywood, Kamal Rai, noted choreographer and dance director from Kathmandu film industry and Uttam Pradhan, a Nepali actor of Darpan Chaya fame.
All the selected group will have to face ‘Final audition for Gateway to Top Ten’ on September 2, Mr. Pradhan said.
The winner of the competition will win a cash award of Rs.1 Lakh along with gift hampers and certificates.

“Nachyo Babary”, a dance competition in Sikkim on the cards








Gangtok: Swar Sikkim will be conducting “Nachyo Babary”, a Dance Galaxy Championship 2009. Audition will be held all over the State - 17th -18th August in Mangan, North Sikkim, 21-22 August in Geyzing, West Sikkim, 24-25 August in Namchi, South Sikkim and 29-31 August in Gangtok, East Sikkim. This is informed in a press conference held at a local hotel on Tuesday.
Mr. D D Bhutia, Ex Minister, is the chief patron, Padmashree Dr. G S Lama, President, Roshan Rai, Vice Presiednt, Repden Bhutia, General Secretary and Shyam Pradhan, Publicity Sectary of the organizing committee. The championship will be for age group 14-25 years. The aim of the programme is to provide a platform for singing and dancing to develop talents in those sectors, said Mr. Bhutia. In the audition round, “judgment will be purely based on group dance, group coordination, choreography, rhythm and timing, body movement and basic dancing skills”, said Dr. Lama adding, “maximum number of participation should be 6-10 participants in a group”. Pre-quarter to final round competition will be held at Gangtok and each dancing group has to perform two items – one in pure folk form, which is compulsory, and any other. From pre-quarter two teams will be eliminated in every round of the competition. Out of top ten groups only four groups will perform in final round for the championship of the competition. 1st prize is Rs.1,00,000, 2nd prize Rs.30,000 and 3rd prize Rs.20,000 cash, along with trophy, certificate and gift hampers.

Winners of Swar Sikkim Lyrics Contest


Gangtok: In the competition of Nepali lyrics organized by Swar Sikkim, Shri Pushkar Parajuli bagged the first prize of Rs. 20,000.00, Shri Bijay Kumar Rai bagged the second prize of Rs. 15,000.00 and Shri Narsingh Rai, Nirjhar bagged third prize of Rs. 10,000.00 in cash. Name of other 21 lyricists including the winner too declared. Ten lyrics contains the theme of Sikkim and remaining 11 pertains to modern Nepali songs.

Chief Guest Minister D.D. Bhutia declared the name of first winner and distributed the prizes in a function held in Gangtok.

It was also informed that platform of Swar Sikkim would become more broader as now onwards it would include talent search for singing as well as lyricists for Nepali songs.
