Gangtok,august2: Six day long Yoga and Pranayam Vigyan Shivir began on September 1 at Government Jail, Rongey. Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Sikkim, and Rongey Jail Authority are jointly organizing the camp.
The inaugural programme was presided by Mrs. R.Ongmu, Member, State Planning Commission. Draupada Ghimirey, President, Sikkim Vikalng Sahayata Samiti, Senior S.P Sikkim Police Y. Tshering, Patanjali Yog Samiti state President Mr. R.P. Poudyal and Publicity Secretary D.R Dulal were present on the occasion.
More than 25 prisoners and 20 locals took part in the camp on first day. The camp is being organized to give a message of healthy life. “Where ever we stay, in a jail or elsewhere, we are to be always be alert about our health. Lost of health is everything lost”, Yoga Instructor D.T. Bhutia told the participants. He is hopeful that the number of participants will increase by tomorrow.
Patanjali Yog Samiti is also organizing a six day Yoga Camp at Mangalbaria Senior Secondary School, West Sikkim from 2nd of September, publicity secretary Mr. Dulal said.
