Border Road Organisation dedicated RangRang Bridge to Nation Today


North Sikkim: The longest bridge ever constructed by the Border Road organisation was inaugurated by Lt.Gen Rao in a colourful ceremony held in North Sikkim.The123 meter long "RangRang Bridge" built at estimated cost of Rs.5crores and 25 lakhs was dedicated to the nation by BRO officer Lt.Gen Rao in presence of DC (north) T.N.Kazi, other Govt.officials,Panchayats,Public members.

Border Road Organisation today showed that its expertise and resources are world class and This bridge would be included in Limca Book of Records for its length and at height it has been built as an engineering marvel. The BRO is also working hard to build world class road in this part to connect Gangtok with Chungthang despite the problems of landslips and landslides of North Sikkim due to its difficult terrain.

Lt.Gen.Rao also spoke of making available the job opportunities at various levels including Junior engineers to people of Sikkim . Border Road Organisation would also open a recruitment center in Sikkim if desired by the state.

The new Gangtok-Chungthang road is bound to bring about economic development to the North Sikkim.

meanwhile, DC north T.N.Kazi requested better management of roads in this area as it is more prone to onslaught of landslides and landslips by BRO.
