Parliament Committee on Empowerment of Women visits Sikkim



Gangtok: As per information received from Home Department, Government of Sikkim,Parliament Committee on Empowerment of Women consisting of twenty Members of Parliament,willbe visiting State capital w.e.f. 7th to 9th July'07.The MPs will be attending a meeting of the state Bank of Sikkim and representatives of Finance Department, Government of Sikkim (Banking Division) regarding Credit facility for women by public sector Banks on 9th July’07.A field visit to Padma Odzer Chogney School, Chongney Tar(Tribal school being run by an NGOs under the grants of Ministry of Tribal Affairs followed informal discussion with the representatives of Ministry of Tribal Affairs and State Government Affairs regarding social and economic upliftments of Tribal women) is also on the cards. Further the committee will also visit the office of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and interact with the women employees. The Parliamentary Committee on Empowerment of Women will depart for Bagdogra on 10th July.Consist of Smt. Krishna Tirath, Smt. Priya Dutt, Smt. Jayaprada, Smt. Preneet Kaur, Smt. Sushila Karketta, Smt Manorama Madhvaraj, Smt. Tek Lal Mahota Smt. Kiran Maheshwari, Shri Rajesh Kumar Manjhi, Smt. Neeta Pateriya, Prof.M. Ramadass, Smt.K. Rani, Smt. Tejaswini See Ramesh, Smt.Minati Sen Smt. Karuna Shukla, Smt. C.S. Sujatha, Smt. Jayaben B Thakkar, Shri P.C. Thomas, Shri M.P. Veerendra Kumar and Shri Kinjarapu.
