Sikkim HighCourt adjorns hearing on lecturers’case

Gangtok: Sikkim High Court has adjourned the hearing of two cases relating to the appointments of two lecturers in Sikkim Government College, Tadong.
The High court on May 15 heard the cases and decided to adjourn the hearing till May 26 the both cases i.e.: WP© 43 of 2005 Binod kumar sinha vs State Government of Sikkim and WP © 44 0f 2005 Purak Das vs State Govt. of sikkim .
Both the cases have been filed in 2005 against the state government by two lecturers for refusing them appointments as faculty for sikkim government collage even after having making to merit list and passing the interviews following a snowballing controversy on local and non-local issue.
On march 19, Sikkim High Court had passed an Order instructing the state government to appoint Puran Das,one of the petitioners within April3,2007. This has led to the State Government to file a review petition on March 29,2007 against the case.
