DR.PAWAN CHAMLING UNVEIL NEW SCHOOL BUILDING


CHIEF MINISTER OF SIKKIM UNVEIL NEW SCHOOL BUILDING REITERATES SELF-EMPLOYMENT


NAMCHI: The Chief Minister Pawan Chamling today formally inaugurated a 6 roomed school building of Perbing Secondary School at Chuba-Perbing constructed with an estimated price of 18 lakhs.

Established in the year 1962, the school and was recognised by the government of Sikkim as a Primary School in 1970-71. The school is running with 17 teaching and 5 non-teaching staffs with enrolled student strength of 238.

Today, during the occasion of new school building inauguration, late Pinzo Sherpa – the land donor of the school was also felicitated. Meanwhile the founder teachers of the school – GM Tamang, Ongden Lepcha, NR Sherpa and SK Gurung were also felicitated by the school administration and the School Managing Committee.

The people of Temi-Tarku today also felicitated the Chief Minister Pawan Chamling for his dedication towards all around development of the said constituency. The area MLA and Minister for Human Resource Development Department (HRDD) today took the occasion to place a number of demands for the constituency. Meanwhile Suraj Rai, Headmaster of Perbing Secondary School presented a report of the school.

The Chief Minister addressing the gathering today acknowledged that the people of Chuba-Prebing have earned a brand name for themselves on organic vegetables. “Perbing placed an example in itself by became producer” said Chamling adding that the SDF government is working tirelessly for the socio-economic upliftment of the poor people. “As such, today we have handed over the school building to the hands of the people looking forward to all of you to take care of the new structure”, Chamling added.

Answering to the demands placed by the area MLA, The Chief Minister assured to sanction of power supply to the village. He also urged the Panchayat to register the land in the name of security RMDD & HRDD for the construction of a public ground. “We have several plans to construct public grounds but because of lack of activeness of Panchayats and lack of public participation, such schemes of government are not becoming successful”, he added.

Further he stressed, “Sikkim is the only state where teachers and other employees are getting highest salary. Accordingly they should render their duty for the upliftment of the society”. Chamling said one reaches the zenith of success by way of his or her knowledge, activeness and creativity and not by making caste, creed and religion their ladder. Thereby he invited the students and educated youths to look towards professions in diverse field of interests because Sikkim is the only state where, according to Chamling, lot of opportunities exists for the youths to grab put forward by the government.

Further he said, “Under SDF governance the people of Sikkim have secured equal rights, since the existing state government is democratically established and is a peoples centric, poor targeted, students-youths & environment targeted government. The Chief Minister said that the SDF government had evoked and provoked political consciousness among the women and laymen of the state, but few reactionary forces are souring the fruits of dedicated endeavour of the government.

Finally the Chief Minister urged the Chief Engineer of HRDD to send estimate of the 6 roomed building for Perbing Secondary School. He assured of sanctioning required funds for carpeting of the road from Phongla to Perbing and urged the local populace to take tourism as profession giving priority to village tourism based on culture.

Children and students from Nicramban Lower Primary, Dong Lower Primary School, Khop Primary, Perbing Secondary and Tingley Junior High School today also presented colourful cultural presentation. The programme was attended by Minister for RMDD KN Rai, MLA AS Baraily, Chariman Gagan Rai, Bhim Lakhey, Zilla Adaskhya, JD (South) HRDD, Deputy Director for HRDD, South district heads, Headmasters, teachers, students and huge congregation of local people.
