26th day of Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling"s village to village tour



Gangtok: 18th July:The Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling on 26th day of his village to village tour addressed the public at Bhasmey School, 4th Mile; Rorathang School; Tarpin Sec. School and Rhenock Sr. Sec. School.
At Bhasmey School while addressing the gathering the Chief Minister sent a very strong message to the middlemen indulging in black marketing of LPG connection meant for the public. The subsidized LPG connection meant for the people of the state should be strictly used for the purpose for which it is meant, the Chief Minister said. Strong action will be taken against those involved in malpractices in such cases. In this regard the Chief Minister directed the Food and Civil Supplies Department to be very vigil and strict and take strong action in this regard. He also directed the department to streamline the distribution of LPG cylinders.
With regard to demand by the public in private industries in the state, the Chief Minister strongly condemned the act of power projects and industrial units who are not giving employment to locals. These units, the Chief Minister said have been established in the state in the interests of the Sikkimese people. Strong civil society is required in the state to voice against injustice meted out by the industrial units and power projects. The Chief Minister also expressed his
displeasure regarding non employment of local people by such units and stressed that these units should follow the government policy in true letter and spirit and provide employment to the locals, which they have been defying. In this regard he further directed the concerned department to ensure the protection of local interest and take appropriate action immediately against such errant companies and bring them to justice.

Referring to complain by public on the quality of work being undertaken at the construction of Rhenock College, the Chief Minister expressed his dissatisfaction over the work and directed the Human Resource Development Department to enquire into the matter and take suitable action to the culprit immediately.At Rorathang Bazar, the Chief Minister said that 58 government sites have already been allotted at Rorathang and the remaining sites will also be allotted to the needy people. In this regard he said that in order to ensure that the bazaar comes up in a planned manner the houses should be constructed as per the approved blue print plan of the government. In this regard he also spelt out the present proposal of the beautification of Rorathang Bazar.

At every spot while giving much time to the people and giving a patient hearing to them the Chief Minister read the demands of the people in his address. He gave on the spot decisions on the various demands of the people and guided the youths on various self employments schemes of the government. Giving on the spot decision he was also directing the government officials to note down the demands and the decisions taken and take actions immediately. Since the entire government machinery is here, the demands taken here are deemed to be Cabinet Decisions, he said.
