Sikkim CM assures to fulfil ASGEA demands


GANGTOK, October 28: Assuring to fulfil the demands of the All Sikkim Government Employees Association (ASGEA) by considering the fiscal position of the State, the Chief Minister Pawan Chamling has reassured to enhance the facilities and perks of C&D grade government employees as the economic condition of the State becomes better and better.
At least 24 government employees association under the South and West District Committee ASGEA today met with the Chief Minister at Tashiling Secretariat here and placed their seven point demands.
The meeting with the Chief Minister, which lasted two and half hours mutually decided to discard demand no 6, said a press release issued by ASGEA Chairman Narsing Rai.
Meanwhile, all Associations reposed their faith on the Chief Minister and his sensitivity towards Grade C&D employees and agreed to abide by his decision and whatever he could possibly award.
Mr. Chamling also gave the option to choose between the Central Sixth Pay Commission’s or Fourth Pay Commission’s recommendation, ASGEA Chairman said adding that the Chief Minister agreed to adopt the recommendation Fourth State Pay Commission and notify it as soon as possible.
Mr. Chamling also proposed such meeting with leaders of all associations after every six month and review their demands and government policy decision pertaining to the employees, the release said.
