Gangtok,September 17: Sikkim Governor Shri B.P.Singh has inaugurated 2 days long technology Himalayan rendezvous“ Sikitex 2009 ”, today at Chintan Bhawan here in the Capital.
Tagged as the first and the biggest Sikkim Information Technology exhibition, with at least 50 biggest IT names of the world like HCL, Sify, IBM, CISCO and others coming under one roof.The Main Sponsor of Sikitex '09 are networking giant Cisco & IT department of Government of Sikkim.
Addressing gathering at inaugural function at Chintan Bhawan in Gangtok today, the State Governor said Sikitex is being held for the first time with the aim of making technology available to needs of Sikkim .The Governor further said that the best award for Sikkim in the e-governance itself speaks in volume about the progress and laurels earned made by Sikkim in the field of information technology.Sikitex'09 organised for the first time with the right aim of making the local entrepreneurs meet with the good names from IT industry.
SIKITEX 2009 has seminars, paper presentation, workshops and talks as the main attraction during the exhibition along with showcasing of latest computer hardware and software.The exhibition is also giving away various prizes to visitors and also to winners of gaming and quizzing contests.
