PIC at Rhenock update

Rhenock,Sep8 : National Rural Employment Guarantee Act is one of the most successful programme that is being implemented in rural areas said BDO, Rhenock, Yadav K Sharma. Panchayats in Rhenock block are already aware of the programme that has been implemented through out the country.
Addressing the gathering on the second day of the PIC programme at Rhenock, Mr. Sharma said a job card holder is entitled to 100 days work in a year but the holder must apply for getting the work. He said no work will be taken under NREGA unless and until it is passed in the Gram Sabha.
Speaking on Total Sanitation Programme Mr. Sharma said it is a matter of pride that Sikkim has received the Nirmal Rajya Puruskar in the country. However, he added, it is important that the habit of having a household toilet should be sustained. Sanitation does not only mean having a toilet but also keeping the surrounding and environment clean, he noted.
Divisional Engineer, RMDD, Bhanu Sharma also addressed the gathering on PMGSY and National Rural Drinking Water Programme.
