Best Sikkim School in environment preservation
RANGPO, September 7: Duga Secondary School has won the best school award in tree plantation drive and preservation of environment, which was recently initiated by the State Human Resource Development Department as a step towards encouraging students in the Green Mission programme.
The award consisting of Rs 25, 000 and a certificate was handed over by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling to the school Headmaster DB Chettri on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
The headmaster has credited the achievement to the students and teacher, guardians, members of SMC, Panchayat and BAC Duga for their cooperation in the green mission.
The school has targeted to make a museum in old school building, for which we hope that all the people will support for the success of the project, he added.
The School was set up in 1905.
