GANGTOK, Aug 17: Members of Travel Agents Association of Sikkim (TAAS) along with officials from the Department of Tourism and few other stake holders attended the East & North East Road Show in Kolkata on August 11-12, which was jointly organized by the Regional Directorate (North East) , Ministry of Tourism and West Bengal Government.
A nine member team from Sikkim participated in the road show for the promotion, marketing and publicity of tourism product of the State.
The Tourism Department was represented by Madan Pradhan, Deputy Director, Chewang Pulger, Assistant Director whereas TAAS was represented by Satish Bardewa, Karma Tashi Bhutia, Lilly Tshering Bhutia, Binita Lama, Sushma Sharma, Jeetendra Lama, Dhanman Tamang, Randeep Khati and Barap Namgyal. High level dignitaries from Ministry of Tourism including Shri.Sultan Ahmed Union Tourism Minister for State, Secretary MOT, Additional Director General, MOT and other various top dignitaries from states were also present.
A presentation on Sikkim’s tourism potential, infrastructure development was put up at the road show by the Sikkim team.
Members of TAAS distributed widely “The Welcome Card” for the 2010 Year of Tourism in Sikkim.
