www.sikkimnregs.org introduced to target and fulfills rural planning in Sikkim
Gangtok, August 25: As per the information lately given by secretary RMDD, Sikkim a MIS training on State Rural Household Census 2009 was held at Janta Bhawan on Friday. The training was conducted by Dr Sandeep Tambe (Additional Secretary,RM&DD) and Kishore Pradhan (Assistant Project Officer, RM&DD). All the Panchayat Inspectors, Field Facilitators and Swan Network Assistants from North and East Districts attended the training programme. State Rural Household Census is a recently launched initiative to collect the rural development status at the family member level on various parameters. A database (RDMS) has been designed in MS-Access inhouse and more than 30 parameters will be collected from each rural household of the State. The official website i.e.www.sikkimnregs.org was introduced in the training, where the rural development progress at the individual beneficiary level can be directly updated in real time and various reports can be generated in a transparent manner. This will be very useful for rural planning and targeting of government programmes. The objective of the training was to brief the trainees about the data validation and data entry at the block level. Several queries were discussed and resolved during the course. Hands-on training on data entry was also imparted to the Swan Network Assistants from the North and East districts.
