Poultry Mission 2009-1012 & Dairy Mission 2009-1012 launched on I-Day

GANGTOK, August 13: The State Government will launch the Poultry Mission 2009-1012 and Dairy Mission 2009-1012 under the State Animal Husbandry, Livestock, Fisheries and Veterinary Services Department on the occasion of 62nd Independence Day here at Paljor Stadium.
On the same day, a number of health schemes will also be launched under the State Health Care and Family Welfare Department, informs an official statement. The health schemes include Health Insurance Scheme or Mukhya Mantri Upohar Bima Yojana for BPL families, Mukhya Mantri Antyodaya Pustahaar Yojana for BPL families, Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccines for children in the age group of 15 to 18 months, Iron, folic acid and calcium supplementation to pregnant women & lactating mothers.
As usual the Independence Day celebrations will feature the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Minister followed by March past by ITBP, SSB, SAP, IRBn, Sikkim Police, Sikkim Police (Mahila platoon) Sikkim Home Guards, NCC Platoons, Scouts and Guides, DHH Platoon, Road Safety Platoon of Traffic Branch, TNA Band (Brass and Pipe), Army Band and Sikkim Police Band.
State Awards, Meritorious Service Award, Roll of Honour and Jeewan Raksha Puraskar along with certificate and award for meritorious performance by group D workers and Rajya Van Sangrakshan Evam Paryavaran Puraskar, 2009 will also be conferred on the occasion.
The day will also see the release of a book on the “Traditional Herbal Healers of Sikkim” (Forest, Env & Wildlife Management Department), mass drill by students, drill on traffic signals by students of Deorali Senior Secondary School, culture programmes and the Independence Day Football Final.
