NAMCHI, August 7: Namchi Girls’ Senior Secondary School has bagged first position in the District Level Science Seminar 2009 followed by Namchi Senior Secondary School and Turuk Secondary School in second and third places respectively.
The winners will be representing South District in the upcoming State Level Science Seminar to be held in the State Capital.
The seminar themed Chandrayaan: Promises and Concern’, was conducted by State Institute of Education, Gangtok in collaboration with District HRDD Namchi here at New Secondary School, Namchi.
The winners were adjudged by judges consisting of Pravin Puri (Reader) CCCT Chisopani, Anup Sharma (Lecturer) CCCT Chisopani and Srijana Dewan (Lecturer) Loyola College of Education, Namchi.
The Principal, Government Degree College Kamrang, Namchi Dr. MP Thapa, who was present as the chief guest highlighted on the topic of the seminar and cited the importance of science in this era of science and technology.
Only 29 out of the 42 invited Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools of the District participated in the seminar. One participant each from the participating schools represented their institution for the seminar.
The winners were given away with trophies and certificates along with the certificates to the other participants
