PAKYONG, August 13: Jerimites Football Club stormed into the finals of Independence Day Football Tournament 2009 by defeating Drivers Association Pakyong by two goals to one here today.
Both the teams scored 1-1 in the 80th minutes of the match but the Drivers Association walked out of the tournament when the Jerimites scored another goal. Jerimites Football Club was declared the winner. They will play against Arsenal Gangtok on August 15.
In the two semi final matches of the junior level boy’s football tournament which was organized by St. Xavier’s School, Puspanjali Vidhyalaya defeated Dugalakga School by two nil and St. Xavier’s School defeated Pacheykhani Secondary School 2-0. Puspanjali Vidhyalaya and St. Xavier’s School will lock their horns in the final to be played on the occasion of Independence Day.
