GANGTOK, August 21: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and GREF yesterday restored a series of road blocks along the National Highway 31-A.
A series of landslides had occurred along the West Bengal portion of NH-31A (Road Sevoke - Rangpo -Gangtok), Road Damdim - Algarah – Rishi triggered by cloud burst.
The incessant rains of August 19 and 20 had led to the cloud burst near Melli on August 20.
BRO and GREF had deployed all their resources in the area removing the debris for traffic.
With coordination from West Bengal Police and Sikkim Home Department, normal traffic resumed at 4 pm
