PAKYONG, August 12: Arsenal Gangtok’s Sanjeet Subba scored a hattrick and Arsenal defeated Dikling Senior Secondary School 5-3 in the first semi final match of the Independence Day Football Tournament 2009 played here today.
Norbu Lepcha and Karma Subba from the winning team also scored one each goal in the 27th and 43 minutes respectively.
From the losing team, Norbu Tsehring Bhutia scored two goals in the 52nd and 55th minutes while Karma Thapa scored one goal in the 12th minute of the match.
The last semi final match will be played tomorrow between Jerimites Football Club versus Driver’s Association Pakyong. The winner will take on Arsenal Gangtok in the final.
A friendly match was also played between Boys Club Veterans versus Pakyong Veterans. Boys Club Veterans won the match by 6-4 goals.
