Bodies of Missing 4 Jawans found

Gangtok ,September 7: The dead body of four army Jawans were recovered at three place of the river Teesta at Majhitar, Tarkhola and Kalijhora after hectic search by the army personnel. It may be mentioned here that an army vehicle plying from Sirwani to Gangtok had slipped from road and plunged into Ranikhola in the morning of September 1 at Topakhani, 31 A National highway some kilometers away from Singtam. According to the eye witnesses, the incident took place at around 8 A.M. The jawans were crying for help, but the villagers when rushed to incident, they were washed away by the force of the river. Four Jawans were traveling in the vehicle. The rescue operation including helicopter swung into action to recover the four missing jawan.The missing jawans are Paleswar Prasad(30,uttarakhand), Ishwar Datta(32, Himachal Pradesh), Prakash Verma(22, uttarakhand) and Amit Kumar (22, Uttar Pradesh) and they could not be traced out so far. Since the force of the flow of Ranikhola was very strong at the time of incident, it was suspected that they have been washed away and killed. Ultimately, the recovery of deadbody confirmed their death.
