ACT EXTENDS SUPPORT TO PRASHANT TAMANG

GANGTOK, September 18: The Affected Citizens of Teesta (ACT) has extended their appreciation to Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson of UPA for having made the historic decision to recognize Lord Ram as the historical figure and not a mythological figure as stated by the ASI.
This was said during a meeting held here at BL House on September 15 to take stock of the present situation of the “Satyagraha” and to formulate strategy for future course of action.
In a press release issued by Tseten Lepcha, Chief Coordinator, ACT has also extended full support to Prashant Tamang in his “historic effort” to win the Indian Idol for the unity, dignity and honour of the Hill people.
Stating that a victory for Prashant will be victory of the Hill people’s resolve to stand united in times of needs and recognition of the citizens of the Hills as legitimate stakeholders in this Great Nation, ACT has also appealed all Sikkimese to continue their support to this greater cause.
During the meting, the ACT has also resolved to continue the Satyagraha with renewed zeal in response of the State government to protect the sanctity of Dzongu, which according to them has not been in the right direction in bringing a just and acceptable solution.
Members of the ACT have also extended sincere appreciation to all political and social organizations for having extended unconditional support to the Satyagraha.
