GANGTOK, August 30: The Tashi Namgyal Academy (TNA) Alumni Association today convened a special meeting to congratulate their alumni member Bhaichung Bhutia for leading the national team on their “maiden” and “historic” victory lifting the Nehru Cup for the first time.
The Association, in a press release, has expressed their happiness on the success of their member and has wished the skipper and the Indian team similar success in future endeavours. “The win will be recorded in the annals of Indian football. The Alumni Association feels the youngsters will be inspired by this win,” a release issued by Tseten Dorjee, the publicity secretary of the TNA Alumni Association said.
The Association has also acknowledged that this is a new beginning for Indian football.
