Sikkim Himali Rajya Parsihad criticise Govt.

GANGTOK, August 13: Sikkim Himali Rajya Parsihad (SHRP) has strongly criticised the ruling government for their failure in providing better facilities to the recent land slides victims of the state, states a press release issued by the party.
A meeting of the party was held today under its president Dr. AD Subba where the party came up with a strong demand with the state government to provide all possible help to the landslides victims as soon as possible.
The release specially mentions of the land slides of Namok and Lasun in North District, which has resulted into a major problem for the local people affecting their daily chores.
It has also expressed its resentment to the SDF party president Pawan Chamling for his ruthless behavior against Bishal Rai and Benuka Pradhan of Chong Busty, Namchi. “On May 24 the couple had visited Pawan Chamling in his residence at Ghurpisey in Namchi with their problems. Later when the chief minister handed over a pressure cooker and saree to the couple they refused to accept it. Owing to this the chief minister had slapped the lady in her face and later was handed over to the police,” the release reads.
Stating that the couples are still under police custody for the charge they had never committed, the party has demanded for their early release.
