Gangtok: A meeting of the 12 MLAs of East District in Sikkim and CEC members of Sikkim Democratic Front was held yesterday at the Party Head Office under the Chairmanship of District Convener Dr.D.R.Kharel .The Meeting announced that application forms for candidates aspiring for the party ticket for the upcoming Panchayat,Nagar Palika, and Nagar Nigam Elections will be sent to all branches with in East Sikkim on 16 August.
As announced by Party President Dr. Pawan Chamling on matter of allotting SDF tickets on local bodies elections scheduled in October,2007 ,applications from candidates desiring tickets would be accepted at every District level and would be scrutinized by appointed district committees of MLAs and forwarded to SDF Head Office where CEC of SDF would choose final candidates based on various factors including dedication to party,work performance in areas intending to contest from, standing in local public etc.
