In Battle Ground of Politics Hunger Strikers Are Victims

If One turn back pages of history of world, the bitter truth that will come out to stare you at face is that whenever Issues,Causes & Protests of innocent ,honest and few good men were raised anywhere in world .Nine out of Ten times these good causes and concerns gets engulfed by the forces of politics...and most of times they end up being victims to whims of political leaders surrounding them.

Political forces at any side of fence often end up sedating strikers no matter how good their cause is and how big issue they are concerned with in their hunger to maximize the political mileage out of Issue for their own uprising in one side and other side in process of minimizing political damage that forces surrounding the causes and issues are trying to cause.

But Victims on both fronts are Hunger strikers from Dzongu under ACT who are trying to fight it out for a selfless cause .Call it Saving Teesta River,Call it Preserving Dzongu or Term it Protecting Environment .
This tragedy of politicising is regrettably once more being repeated with the "Dawa & Tenzing" as effects of it is clearly visible as One can observe that Duo's 50 days+ indefinite hunger strike has sort of taken back seat on minds of masses as forces in political battle field get ready to wear their battle gears and try to fight it out on streets, police stations or in Courts of Law.
The only thing everybody seems to be forgetting is that it has already resulted in putting "Hunger Strike " on back burner.
Although, The only good thing is the SDF supremo Dr.Pawan Chamling is basically a positive man .This is a fact most of political narrators and analysts who have observed the big man from 1994 onwards agrees without a shred of doubt in their minds. Just a day ago The Chief Minister Dr. Pawan Chamling said that State Government has taken positive initiative to solve the problem of Dzongu and same was reiterated today by press communique released yesterday by IPR on behalf of state government trying to explain their concern and further explaining that the State Government has already made numerous appeals to the members of the ACT to call off their hunger strike, the release says that the government has been providing round-the-clock police security besides keeping constant vigil on the health of those who are on hunger strike and so on.

No doubt, best of brilliant minds represented both sides of negotiations in earlier six round dialogue process until for whatever reasons and circumstances it got dead locked. Now, There is a lack of clarity as there is meltdown of confidence and sentiments .At present there seems to be bits and pieces of mutual trust and honour missing which undoubtedly causing pain and hurt to both sides.Somewhere, something went wrong and black clouds of mistrust seems to have gathered and perhaps now needs to be cleared as a flicker of hope and light has emerged with open invitation to Dawa & Tenzing by Sikkim Chief Minister Chamling reflecting his concern to find a positive and acceptable solution .This opportunity need to be capitalized by ACT. The big question that now perhaps on minds of one and all "what about condition of calling off hunger strike?" before the meeting takes place , negotiations on table are restarted. There is no doubt neither state government nor ACT want to get caught blinking first. Living in land of Monasteries, temples and holy lakes All of us now need to think about taking a 'middle path' as taught by Lord Buddha.
What if ACT comes out with a proposal of not completely calling off Hunger Strike but by taking a middle path by coming out with proposal to call off hunger strike for the sake of solution to switching from complete hunger strike level the level of liquid diet which would include only fruit juices and health drinks and soups no solid foods .This would be a giant step to enable a walk forward from side of ACT(and also keeping in mind despite 1000 calories a day infusion to Dawa and Tenzing..they have undergone 52 days without solid foods and health factor of them should be accorded a priority ,too).
It would be a terrible mistake to fail to act when we had a chance which has emerged from statement of Dr.Pawan Chamling on Tendong LhoRum Faat.

Spare a thought or two on this?Middle path would be able to turn things around. These are difficult, challenging issues that should not be trivialised by cute, distracting activities of little importance.
