Gangtok: Ministry of Rural Development has released grant-in-aid amounting to Rs 78.82 lakhs (Rs seventy eight lakhs eighty two thousand) under the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojna (SGRY) for 2007-08 for west district. Earlier an amount of Rs 30.31 lakhs has already been released out of the allocation of Rs 181.88 lakhs to the district under the current financial year. The grant is towards planned expenditure and will be utilised for approved items of works subject to the condition laid in the guidelines under the programme of SGRY. The expenditure on implementation of the programme is to be shared on 75:25 between the central and state government. The funds are to be released by the Zilla Panchayat/ DRDAs’ directly to the village Panchayats in the proportion of 20:30:50 respectively within 15 days of receipt of fund from the central or the state government.
