Now Get Ready For Kanchanjanga Idol


Gangtok:Inspired by the huge success of Prashant and Karmas’ musical performances in the national level, series of musical contests will be held in Darjeeling hills for new talents.Darjeeling hill child welfare society is organizing “Kanchanjanga Idol”. The society will assist officially to the winners of “Kanchanjanga Idol” in the audition rounds of national contests like “Indian Idol”, “Sa-re-ga-ma-pa”, “Voice of India”"Swar Sikkim" etc.

Audition rounds for the “Kanchanjanga Idol” will be held at Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong, Siliguri and Gangtok. The winners of contest will receive Rs 1 lakh, 60 Thousand and 40 Thousand as the First, Second and Third prize respectively.Meanwhile, Kanchanjanga music society Kurseong has decided to initiate “Kanchanjanga Voice of 2007” with the object to support upcoming new talents of the hills, which will have an audition round in Kurseong, Darjeeling, Mirik, Kalimpong, Siliguri, Dooars and Gangtok, from August 4 onwards. The forms are available after July 4 from the respective offices. The society is supported by Contractor association of Kurseong. The winner of the contest will have its own album later and complete supports will be provided to contest for national level.“Swar Sikkim 2007” is already on the floor for its musical album and video release.
