Prashant fever in the Sikkim & Darjeeling Hills

Gangtok: The fever of Prashant has reached here to the heights. As the Indian Idol begins in Sony channel, the streets of Gangtok and other small towns in Sikkim becomes complete deserted and silence. As soon as the program ends, the mass procession begins in the street of Gangtok & especially Darjeeling at night with drums and domestic utensils.During the selection for Gala Round, people of Region could not send text messages as much as they wanted and here did not have enough refill vouchers in the town, despite the threatened was given to mobile companies. Despite the hitch in the cellphone services, Prashant sailed in the Gala Round. The very next day, the sentimental people of Sikkim as well as Darjeeling ransacked the entire retails outlets of mobiles shops, which has caused a grave situationfor nearly two hours. Disgruntled fans of Prashant Tamang led by the Sikkim Journalist Forum formed to support Indian Idol contestant gheraoed the Reliance office at MG Marg in Gangtok yesterday against insensitive and racial remark by a Reliance Customer Service Staff to a Prashant Supporter Freza Singh of Gangtok on her voting preferences.Every day there has been massive campaign and rally for Prashant in Sikkim & entire Darjeeling hills and It has become sort of movement and a common cause of rallying their support together for Shaan of Hills which Prashant Tamang sort of started to symbolize to people here.

Mobile companies and Electricity board are high alert for the next round of voting.
