Pelling: Chief Minister of Sikkim Dr.Pawan Chamling accompanied by Mrs.Tikamaya Chamling and other West District dignitaries undertook a visit to holy Lake of Khechipori and offered their prayers in very serene and quite atmosphere.Chief Minister attended the ' Wang' ceremony of the world peace puja conducted by Trulshik Rimpoche,Soktse Rimpoche and Serdup Dungzing Rimpoche.The prayers had begun on May 24 and culminated on May30 at the monastery there.
Chief Minister also took out time for meeting people of the area of Lake and surrounding it and He assured an early fulfillment of demands placed before him by the people of area.
This unusually tranquil Khecheopalri Lake in Sikkim is also known as the wishing lake.It is believed that the birds do not permit even a single leaf to float on the lake surface.Khechipori Lake is on way to Kanchenjungha Base has motor able road from Pelling (27 km.) in west Sikkim. Earlier on his way to Khecheopari Lake,Mr. Chamling also visited SDF Party Office at Darap and Tatang and interacted with the party workers and general public.At Darap,Dr. Chamling assured the people of the setting up of various tourism related projects and infrastructural projects such as construction of an amphitheatre, a Limboo Museum,Tourist information center,guest house etc.,He promised that Tatang primary school would be upgraded so Junior High Level.
