A new business and commerce association representing local businessmen and industrialists from all the districts was announced today by name and style of All Sikkim Apex Forum of Commerce & Industries (ASAFCI) by its president Shree N.Gyltsen in a press conference at Hotel Rendezvous, Gangtok along with its General Secretary Shelendra Pradhan, a local horticulturist. along with four joint Secretaries representing each of four districts. Joint Secretaries includes Karma T. Namgyal from Geyzing, Ram Gopal Rai from Namchi,Ugen T.Ladakhi ,Gangtok and Tempa T.Lachenpa from Lachen in North Sikkim.
The newly formed Commerce Association intend to enable all the local business people especially in trades such as Hotels,Tours & Travel Industries to have a platform of its own and also to provide opportunities and benefits of trade and commerce primarily arising from newly started Nathula Trade Route.
The association was granted its registration by Law Department after clearance from Department of Commerce & Industries,Govt. of Sikkim on April3,2007.
