All sections of people of Sikkim and its surrounding places are much excited about the state tour of Chief Minister Dr. Pawan Chamling which starts from 17th of May 2011. The local people across Sikkim have expressed their views and thoughts about proposed visit of Pawan Chamling to places across Sikkim to review projects, development works and to have to have face to face public interaction and said that it is a good move taken by the Chief Minister to come himself to hear the poor people and their demands and fulfill them.
Mrs. Uma Tamang a local Business women said “We welcome the good move taken by Chief Minister Dr. Pawan Chamling showing his interest to meet the people of the rural areas of the state. Now we can directly tell him about our problems”.
As one of the problems she said that the shopping complex which was made here at Pakyong -a small town near Gangtok , is not able to accommodate the local business people and their goods. If the shopping complex is divided into rooms and is given to the local business people then it would certainly solve the problems of unemployment, she felt. She also pointed out that the road from Pakyong Bazaar to Kartok Raod is not completed over a long time.
She alleged partiality in giving contract works to the local contractors “which we want to place before the chief Minister”. President of Local Mainline Taxi Drivers Association and others have also short listed several matters which they want to vent to Chief Minister.
