Sikkim crash out from CM’s Gold Cup football


Namchi,Nov16: Finally all the home teams are knocked out from ongoing All India Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Football Tournament 2009. Sinolchu Football Club, Namchi, was thrashed by Army XI Red Saturdy while another home team, Sikkim Police, was knocked out by Titanium Kerala on unday.
With the victory of 2-0 against Sikkim Police, Titanium Kerala became the first team to reach the Semi Final of the tourney. In their first match of the tournament here at Bhaichung Stadium, Titanuim Kerala not only played a skilled game to knock off the only home team that remained in the tournament. Sikkim Police team was playing from the beginning of the tournament and defeated a number of well set teams like SAI Namchi, Mizoram XI and Kolkata Customs. But finally their winning spree was by Titanium Kerala.
The guest team dominated the match from the beginning. At 6th minute Cleetus (15) of Titanium beautifully scored a goal providing his team the lead of 1-0 which remained unchanged till the end of first half.
In the second half at 62nd minute of the match, Sikkim Police goal keeper made a blunder. He came forward to collect the ball. Usman (10) of Titanium took the advantage and netted the ball beating the goal keeper of Sikkim Police. The final score was 2-0 in favour of Kerala
