Gangtok,October31 : A Three day Mini Olympic Meet organized by Tashi Namgyal Academy at its school ground was concluded today with Mascot saying Goodybye until next year and Prizes distribution ceremony presided by HRDD Minister Shri NK Pradhan.
The meet was started on 29th October. Education Minister and Chairman of TNA Board Mr. Narendra Kumar Pradhan was the chief guest of the programme concluding the programme with lowering off the Mini Olympics flag. In his address, chief guest Mr. Pradhan said the school has already produced renowned personality like Bhaichung Bhutia in sports as well as many politicians and economists and urged the students to get inspiration to become a good citizen in their lives .He also expressed happiness that the school like TNA could produce citizens who have contributed in making of Sikkim what it is today.He also announced a running Best Athlete trophy for TNA from next Mini Olympics and declared monday as school holiday on demand from school students.Thug of War between TNA parents team led by Education Minister NK Pradhan and TNA teachers team lead by School Principal Anil Chandra Rai was won by Parents team.
Ms.Y. Lachungapa was declares as best athlete of School and also received Governor's Gold Medal.Zongri House was declared as winner of House trophy for its all round performance with 174 points.
