GANGTOK, August 22: The Voluntary Health Association of Sikkim (VHAS) has been entrusted by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) with the job of establishing a ‘Community College’ in the State.
With this responsibility, VHAS has figured figures among the NGOs selected by the National Planning Commission in the country to study and report about Health and Nutrition for preparation of the 11th Five Year Plan document.
Informing this today, VHAS executive director Dr. BB Rai said the association in this connection will be attending a training programme on August 26 in Guwahati.
“The College will help enhance the educational qualifications of the drop-outs and those who cannot attend regular classes,” Dr. Rai said adding that he will soon interact with the IGNOU Regional Office here.
