SIKKIM TO HAVE DIRECTORATE OF CAPACITY BUILDING

GANGTOK: The State Government’s new mantra of capacity building will now get more fillip with the setting up of a separate directorate.
The State Cabinet, which met here at the Tashiling Secretariat recently under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pawan Chamling, discussed the proposal for setting up a separate directorate of capacity building to give the much-needed impetus to the State Government’s plans to empower the human resource in the State through capacity building.
A proposal for the formation of Directorate of Capacity Building under the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Training was faced before the Cabinet. The proposal outlines the Directorate’s functions, and the implementation of the various schemes envisaged under the Capacity Building Programme, as well as setting up of its new office with all necessary infrastructure and other requirements.
The Cabinet has given the green signal to the proposal.
