Nepal: Prachanda entered Sikkim, not Siliguri,

Kathmandu: The Maoists party and its high command must be appreciated for its cleverly act in diverting even the attention of the media. They did this time with proper finesse. The Nepali media which reported a few days back that Comrade Prachanda and Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai had sneaked into the Indian Territory, Siliguri- to be more precise- on July 27 has come out as a completely untrue reporting.
However, what is true is that the Maoists duo instead of sneaking into Siliguri, entered into Sikkim through Chulachuli, Ilam which apparently borders Sikkim or is very close to Sikkim.
Upon leaving Chulachuli in Ilam district, the Maoists team that comprised of Comrade Prachanda, Dr. Bhattarai and the Mechi Zone Incharge, Parth Chetri alias Ram Karki were greeted by some unknown personnel in the adjoining Indian border and were thus carried to Sikkim wherein they all spent one night in Gangtok-the capital of Sikkim- a province of India annexed in 1974.
Formerly, Sikkim used to be a Kingdom.
The Maoists militias had escorted the Maoists leaders up to the Nepali territory, it is learnt.
The vehicle that carried the Maoists leaders to Sikkim had been provided by the Sikkim government.
Media reports have it that Parth Chetri alias Ram Karki, who has his own house in Gangtok provided shelter to the Maoists leaders.
Sources say that during the Gangtok sojourn, the Nepali Maoists met with one influential official of the South Block, India, who had remained instrumental in managing the 12 point agreement in between the State and the rebels then. It is also rumored that the Maoists high command are still in touch with this “gentleman” as and when situation so demands.
What transpired in between the two sides is yet shrouded in mystery. However, intelligent brains here conclude that the South Block official might have invited the Maoists to “influence” the extended plenum of the party that is currently in progress in the Capital.
The Maoists top hats have so far not accepted that they sneaked into Sikkim.
Later, the Maoists leaders returned home the same way they had traveled up to Gangtok.
